Material: Polipropilenă (PP) sau polietilenă de înaltă densitate (HDPE), de înaltă calitate, rezistentă la puncție, impact și agenți chimici. Simbol BIOHAZARD
Etanșeitate: Capacul trebuie să asigure o închidere ermetică (dublă: temporară și definitivă) pentru a preveni scurgerile de lichide sau aerosoli.
Rezistență termică: rezistente la procesul de autoclavare (de regulă până la 121°C sau 134°C pentru sterilizare) fără a se deforma, dacă sunt refolosibile sau necesită tratament prealabil.
Mânere: Rezistente, situate deasupra liniei de umplere, pentru a fi transportate în siguranță.
Sisteme de pedală: Pentru containerele mari (pubele), acționarea cu pedala este obligatorie pentru a evita contactul mâinilor cu recipientul, volumul 70 L
