Barajul a fost dat în exploatare în anul 1962.
Construcția deversorului este realizată din beton armat monolit, fără rosturi de dilatare. În timpul exploatării, pe taluzurile deversorului s-au format numeroase fisuri considerabile. Pragul deversorului este deteriorat pe anumite porțiuni. Fundul construcției deversorului este deformat, prezentând multiple fisuri, din unele dintre care cresc vegetații verzi.

• Lățimea exterioară – 22,0 m
• Lățimea interioară – 13,30 m
• Adâncimea – 2,70 m
• Lățimea pragului – 0,5–0,8 m
